The Nature Park Zillertaler Alpen stretches over 422 km² from the Reichenspitze in the east to the Olperer in the west and from Mayrhofen in the north to the main ridge of the Alps in the south. The area encompasses all the altitude levels that characterize the Alps – from the agriculturally cultivated valley floor all the way up to the forest edge in the alpine pasture regions and yet further in the glacier region. Besides the highly varied altitude (1.000 m to 3.509 m) graduations and geology characterized by extensive farming and earmarked by steeply inclined cultivation areas, there is also remarkable biodiversity.

The nature park may be explored over more than 200 km of marked hiking trails. Numerous of guided themed tours and the Nature Park House are giving an insight in this incomparable alpine world.
